Barrier Fluid Systems
Many processes in the chemical, refining, power, food processing, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries require dual seals with API Plan 54 barrier fluid support systems. These systems must meet various requirements from ASME construction standards to special metallurgy for use in food or pharmaceutical applications. AESSEAL offers a full range of support systems to meet these needs. Support systems and coolers are used in conjunction with API flush plans 52, 53, 54, 21, and 23.
IndustryUptime has extensive experience in applying seal pots, seal flush heat exchangers, and barrier fluid systems for long-term reliability and low-maintenance service. These systems can help reduce or eliminate seal flush water, along with the related product dilution and need for evaporation at later stages in the process. We also distribute Royal Purple® barrier fluids for either hydrocarbon or FDA service.
AES Buffer Fluid Reservoirs
Buffer fluid reservoirs can be used in either pressurized or non-pressurized dual seal arrangements. Circulation of barrier fluid is accomplished through thermosyphon or circulation from a pumping scroll designed into the mechanical seal. These systems are commonly specified as API Plan 52 or API Plan 53 barrier fluid systems.
AESSEAL offers a range of reservoir sizes with or without cooling coils to meet various cooling requirements, along with several options for customization with instrumentation. This product family includes the AS28, 28 liter (8 gallon), API 682 reservoir, which is designed and manufactured in accordance with ASME VIII, Div 1.
AESSEAL PumpPac™ Barrier Fluid Circulator
Applications with low operating speeds, high cooling requirements, or the need to increase barrier fluid pressure above the process pressure require dedicated barrier fluid circulators. These systems are commonly identified as API Plan 54 barrier circulation systems.
AESSEAL has developed the PumpPac™ barrier fluid circulators for exactly these situations. The PumpPac™ is available in a variety of sizes and materials to meet the needs of Pharmaceutical mixers, hydrocarbon processing and chemical applications, along with several other industrial applications.
